Rebecca is a Consultant Educational Psychologist with over 30 years experience. Registration to practise as an Educational Psychologist with the Association of Educational Psychologists (AEP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Qualifications and experience in Educational Psychology

Rebecca achieved a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology from Southampton University (UK) in 1977; a Bachelor of Education degree from St Thomas University (Canada) in 1978; two years teaching experience across the school age range and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Dalhousie University (Canada) in 2001, achieving the qualification standard recognised by the Association of Educational Psychologists (AEP) and the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) to practise in the UK as an Educational Psychologist.

In addition to many years experience and continuing direct practise of Educational Psychology, Rebecca has extensive experience in the delivery, supervision and management of Educational Psychology (EP) services and is IWEPS' Principal Consultant Educational Psychologist.

Additional interests, qualifications and continuing professional development

Rebecca worked with IW schools for nearly 10 years in the IW Council's Educational Psychology Service (EPS), with leadership positions as Senior, Acting Principal, and Principal Educational Psychologist. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Research in Education from the University of Birmingham; enhanced CRB status and is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (M.B.Ps.S.).

Throughout her career Rebecca has maintained a keen interest and commitment to pursuing, researching, and applying academic developments within psychology and using these within her educational psychology practice. This includes undertaking and passing at a high standard many courses and research components of the University of Birmingham’s Doctorate in Educational Psychology (D.Ed.Psych) alongside full time posts with the IW Council as Senior and Principal Educational Psychologist.

Rebecca's areas of specialist expertise and interest include: cognitive and educational assessment and consultancy; Law and Procedure as Expert Witness; ASD, ADHD, CCAMHS; CBT and Solution Focused Therapeutic approaches; Positive Psychology; Accelerated Learning; Learning Intelligence; future mindedness; and whole school/community engagement and provision of bespoke training in these areas. Rebecca is currently undertaking Expert Witness courses with Cardiff University.
